Beginnings of September...

So far this month I have made these lovely Fetching mitts and started a Fake Isle hat only to have had to frog it last night due to the colors being too close together that the patterning could not be seen. So, back to the drawing board ;-)

I've also got another pair of socks started for Larry and the Estes Vest in the Fall 2008 issue of Interweave Knits. I've also made 2 cute dumpling bags from this same issue...This one is unfinished and prior to felting...it looks like an eggplant ;-) Hopefully the red one will felt out better and now I know to use a balloon to help form it when drying. I'm also going to sew the cutest little pink buttons on the tops of those embroidered stems, should look very cute when finished!

The days are still warm and my garden is out of this world! I have Pansies, Dahlias, Marigolds, Sweet Peas and the tomatoes are unreal. I am blessed with an abundance of fresh tomatoes and beautiful flowers daily! It is starting to look like fall though. the leaves on the trees are beginning to change and with it the crispness of the morning air and unfortunately the days seem to be getting shorter ;-(

... At least I still have the sun!
